The Individual Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program (IIDP) at Washington State University is an innovative doctoral program that allows students to pursue their academic interests in a unique and interdisciplinary way. This Philosophy Doctorate program provides students with the opportunity to design, develop, and complete a degree program tailored to their individual needs and goals. Students work with an advisor and four additional members of the WSU faculty from at least three academic units in order to create a personal program of study that meets the necessary criteria for a doctoral degree. The curriculum is flexible, allowing students to take courses across multiple disciplines and gain expertise in both subject areas while still producing original research of doctoral significance. With its highly personalized approach, this unique program offers students the chance to make important contributions within their field while giving them the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their professional career.
