Graduates of the Prevention Science Doctorate Program at Washington State University will be well-equipped to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based prevention programs that positively impact individuals, families, and communities. With a strong focus on research and translation into effective policies and programs, students will learn how to create and assess interventions that prevent or reduce the risk of negative health outcomes such as substance use disorders or mental health issues. Through experiential training in research methods and theoretical frameworks backed by real-world applications, graduates of this program will be prepared to make meaningful contributions towards improving public health and promoting healthy development for individuals, families, and communities.
