The Philosophy Doctorate in Engineering Science at Washington State University provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of engineering principles. The program is administered through the College of Engineering and Architecture's Office of the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Programs, giving students considerable flexibility in designing programs tailored to their individual needs. With a strong emphasis on practical experience, students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through laboratory work and research projects in specialized areas such as biological systems engineering, atmospheric research, materials science and engineering, or bioengineering. They will also benefit from expert mentorship from leading faculty members and access to some of the university's interdisciplinary centers such as the Bioengineering Research Center (BRC), Center for Environmental Education and Outreach (CEREO), Center for Materials Research (CMR), Laboratory for Atmospheric Research (LAR), and Composite Materials and Engineering Center (CMEC). Upon graduation, students will be well-prepared for careers in industry or academia with the knowledge and skills necessary to
