Dominican University of California is a private university in San Rafael, California. Founded in 1890, DU is ranked #15 in the U.S. News & World Report's 2022-2023 edition of Best Regional Universities West.
DU offers over 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and is known for its strong liberal arts, business, and education programs. DU is also home to the Dominican Center for Social Justice, which promotes social justice and community engagement.
DU's campus is located in the heart of Marin County, just north of San Francisco. The campus is home to a variety of cultural attractions, including the Dominican Museum of Art and Culture, the Dominican Arboretum, and the Dominican Performing Arts Center. DU is also a member of the Pacific West Conference, and its athletic teams are known as the Penguins.
