Fine Arts

The MFA program in Fine Arts at Washington State University is a three-year interdisciplinary program that provides an immersive learning experience for students interested in exploring the world of art. This program focuses on personal and conceptual artistic development while incorporating current practices in the field. Students will have access to one-on-one studio discussions with faculty, and will have the chance to exhibit their work in the departmental gallery and museum of art during their second year. The program requires 53 graded credit hours as well as 8 credit hours of thesis work (FA 700), totaling 61 credits. Graduates from this program will leave with an advanced knowledge of fine arts, along with the skills and tools needed to pursue professional opportunities in fields such as gallery curation, museum administration, education, or creative research.
